As things stand the rebels have reached Damascus and are encircling the city, Assad is finished. The most surprising news is that apparently he's still in Damascus.

Some questions on this in case anyone knows.

- do the rebels have an air force ? If not, why don’t the Russians and Syrians just bomb the crap out of them?

- is the rebels’ strength (or Assad weakness) a function of Hezbollah being degraded by Israel?

- are the rebels Islamist nutters (bbc just said Islamist)? Are they linked to the old ISIS shizzle?

Putin must be raging hes spent all this time & money bombing Syria to keep Assad in power, just so he has his military bases with access to the Mediterranean Sea, yet now they're having to abandon them.
