Annoying Phrases (rehashed)

I'm sure there was another thread about this but I can't find it so sod it.

As we're all miserable old bastards who want to smash anyone who says things like "can I get a Moretti please?" FULL in the FACE, I thought I would raise another example of a phrase which, if you use it, you should have a pint of piss poured over you.

An irritant I have noticed recently is the incorrect use of the verb/phrase "speak to". Wankers in the media now seem to use this phrase to set a context, such as "Grenfell speaks to the lack of care for the poor in society". No it fucking doesn't. A burned out building can't speak to anyone or anything u nob.

And the next politician who uses the abominable phrase "speak truth to power" can honestly fuck off, even though it's correct.

Anybody else feeling mildly irritated this rainy Thursday afternoon? This is a thread that speaks to the frustration of well educated middle-aged men in society (oh fuck off!).

‘Speaks to’ is yet more consultancy/contractor bullshit to make them sound more intelligent, when really they are just rehashing something you told them.

Just fuck off. 99% of deaf people are happy with their life.

Of course I will never able to hear and I am absolutely happy to be deaf cos that have been in my whole life.
