The death knell of another classic non league ground?
I have never been but read somewhere it's a good one. What's the opinion on here? 01-05-2024, 06:43 AM in response to #43831
From a distance, the Stonebridge Road Stadium appears to be fenced in by elecricity pylons. I liked the vast but crumbling open terrace at the west end; don't see many of those these days.

Gives me an excuse to post highlights of Thurrock' s incredible point when battling relegation in 2011. A young Shanghai is at 8 mins 53 seconds the first out the blocks down the terraces towards Kenny Clark as he smashes home a justified equaliser.
A proper ground, one of the best in terms of atmosphere and vibes I went to. 01-05-2024, 07:13 AM in response to #43831
One of those that are simply nostalgic from spending weekends as a kid being dragged around the terraces of the Isthmian leagues.
I look at Stonebridge Road the same way I do places like Hitchin, St Albans, Hendon and Hayes. Fond memories. I'll need to try and get there one last time should this actually come to fruition. 01-05-2024, 07:19 AM in response to #43872 Shanghai Wrote: Gives me an excuse to post highlights of Thurrock' s incredible point when battling relegation in 2011. I have no non-league allegiance currently, not been to any games this year. May do a few Grays games when they move into Thurrock's old ground in a year or two.
