Wasn't his wife, was a lady he was 'seeing'. They'd been together a matter of weeks. Yet he's milked it to the end of the earth and used it to excuse the mounting debts and payments owed to players/staff/suppliers/security company/coach company, which is a pretty grubby low move even for someone like him. How many other semi-pro football clubs grind to a complete halt for four weeks over a bereavement? We have a CEO, match day secretary and a board of directors but apparently every debt he's amassed over the last few years is all a big misunderstanding due to this bereavement... 29-10-2024, 11:19 PM in response to #78314 29-10-2024, 11:24 PM in response to #78300 Fola Onibuje Wrote: Can see his point. When you're actively screwing up and destroying a football club people love, you're going to get incidents of this nature unfortunately. Whilst I don't condone, I'll admit it did raise a smile. Whilst FCFC is not awash with thousands of adoring supporters, the few that love the club are devastated and heartbroken at what's happening. If that were Southport or a similarly supported club there'd be fellas with pitchforks in the owners garden at night demanding answers. 30-10-2024, 12:11 AM in response to #78317 30-10-2024, 12:23 PM in response to #78318 ChrisVessey Wrote: When you're actively screwing up and destroying a football club people love, you're going to get incidents of this nature unfortunately. Which would be fairly logical . 30-10-2024, 04:06 PM in response to #78287

He needed quick cash to pay outstanding wages fron last season so sold the top soil of the pitch, then claimed works would begin within days and that he was funded it all himself. That was mid-June. We were told it'd be ready for September 21st and it's in a worse state than it was when he sold the turf. Since then, we've had some corking excuses - - Asbestos under the pitch. - Methane issues. - Weather. - Contractors being busy despite saying they were booked in and ready to go. - The next contractors turning the job down at the last minute. - The contractors after those turning the job down at the last minute. The reality being they all wanted a large payment up front. - Logistical issues (very vague). Now he's just not saying anything, which is the most worrying. He owes the coach company £12-15k. Security company £16k. Bar staff over £10k combined. Maintenance company £10k. Players 2-4 weeks behind. Backroom staff/coaching staff 2-4 weeks behind. Wouldn't even like to guess what the HMRC might be owed... Russ Wilcox successfully sued him for non-payment of survival bonuses for two seasons in a row, he's still not been paid up We're under a transfer embargo because he sacked Clayton Donaldson and Danny Ellis and refused to pay up their contracts. We've played four home games this season. Alfreton (2k fee), Guiseley (£4.5k fee) and BPA twice (£4.5k fee). Alfreton and Guiseley are still waiting for their money, which is why BPA shamed him into pre-payment with a statement before the two games there. Now we've a groundshare with Buxton over 90 minutes away, that he said 'should be upto the New Year, but is in place for the season if needed'. But yeah, he's trying to convince us he can afford a £750k cancer carpet... I'm amazed the National League have been so accommodating considering they didnt let Darlo in the play-offs due to 10 less seats than required in their ground and other such cases. |
