When I read how bad you said he’d done I was sceptical. You are fake news. Farage is the most effective politician of the last 15 years and it’s not close. He is the most popular politician we have. Admitting that doesn’t mean you like the smarmy bastard. 08-06-2024, 07:29 AM in response to #52086 Baldman Wrote: I didn’t watch it, but I’ll be honest. Despite having a Tory-like relationship with facts, Flynn actually came across the best IMO. Rayner man-marked Mordaunt pretty well and the Green woman, Lib Dem lady and Welsh bloke all said the odd thing that was good, but they were all ultimately just a distant support cast. I don't think these debates do a great deal. Rishi's massive error this week will have the biggest impact by a mile. 08-06-2024, 07:32 AM in response to #52089 08-06-2024, 07:36 AM in response to #52086 Baldman Wrote: I didn’t watch it, but I’ll be honest. It was hardly the revolutionary impact he would have wanted to have after the initial fanfare about him suddenly deciding to re-emerge from Trump's arsehole. The glee with which this twat's antics have been received by those who don't really have to give a shit about how the country ends up being run is a bit depressing. 08-06-2024, 07:37 AM in response to #52089 Nonsense Potter Wrote: I watched most of it. And Rayner only had to draw or lose narrowly (she actually ranked second best in the poll). Labour can continue to do what they’ve done the last couple of years, just let the Tories implode and don’t scare the horses. 08-06-2024, 07:41 AM (This post was last modified: 08-06-2024, 07:41 AM by Leeds Sandgrounder.) in response to #52075
I think the Tories have dropped another massive bollock by attempting to smear Rayner, and Mordaunt sort of carried on in that vein by trying to patronise her. She's come out of it all very well, and she still seems like an actual person in a way that few of them do.

I think the Tories (and many supporters) are baffled by her popularity, like Farage to those on the progressive side of the fence. 08-06-2024, 07:52 AM in response to #52102 Baldman Wrote: I think the Tories (and many supporters) are baffled by her popularity, like Farage to those on the progressive side of the fence. I'm not baffled by Farage - there is a very expensive propaganda machine behind him. Thankfully we haven't totally turned into America yet - we should be able to see through this kind of wank, and obviously the vast majority of people do. 08-06-2024, 07:56 AM in response to #52107 |
