It might predominantly benefit those parties that play on naivety, however votes for over 70 year olds predominantly benefits those parties that play on senility, so it all evens up really.
When you think of how many millions of votes are cast by people who are mentally incapable of even understanding what they are voting for, then there's no case against this in reality.
