According to Mel Stride, the work and pensions minister, there are now 900,000 young males out of work in the UK and he believes easy access to porn and video games have been a “prevalent factor” in this causing young men to drop out of the workforce in droves.
I work with a young lad who freely admits he is up all night every night playing video games. He’s like a zombie at work. He’s a bright lad and I keep telling him he needs to leave this dead end job and get a proper career but he shows no interest. His gaming addiction has taken over his life. He only works part-time and says he doesn’t want a full-time job. 20 years old and he doesn’t really want to work.
It’s no wonder the economy is flatlining when a massive missing chunk of its workforce is up all night playing video games or watching porn. These are the kind of people who would benefit massively from National Service.
