More of an observation but from the reaction to this, I am seeing the same dynamic as other election campaigns. Tory policy derided in every form by ninety percent of twitter users; the usual trite put downs by the perenially correct back slapping brigade, derision turns into an arms race to make the most arse clenchingly twee riposte
Then the policy meets the actual British public, proves popular and the Tories win, again
This is normally followed by a brief three day reflection period, where they consider whether they are out of touch, before promptly concluding they are not and actually their worldview is the only one people share and they revert to type for another five years
I don't think this will happen this time... the gap is too big and the last five years have seen too many catastrophic Tory fuck ups
But I can see the same dynamic already taking shape
The election will be way closer than the opinion polls predict. Way closer than social media suggests. Just like this forum, Social media is overrun with work-shy leftards and students with far too much time on their hands. They don’t represent the national view.
