Well... not really. It's a defection - did you expect Labour to be saying nice things about her before, or vice versa?

I'm not sure supporting stopping small boats is quite the same as shouting allahu akbar after winning a local election but there we are.

A lot of people on here have zero understanding of how politics actually works.
Labour know hardly anyone has ever heard of Natalie Elphicke and that even fewer will bother to scour her voting record (and those who do probably already have their voting preference locked in), most won't register this story at all but some will vaguely fit it into a narrative of someone else turning away from the Tories to Labour and that is a pattern worth following. To think Labour would turn down this opportunity because a few blowhards on the internet don't like her is comically deluded. ![]() • Baldman, DesCartes, Greek Card, Leeds Sandgrounder, Nonsense Potter 08-05-2024, 06:06 PM in response to #45386 Dover and Dover Wrote: Perhaps she's a secret agent sent in by the tories to get at labour from the inside? She's certainly a risk. As above, this will be seen by loads of floating voters who don't really care, as a massive issue for the Tories and not a lot more. It's not my sort of thing, but I'm especially delighted that neither of the recent defections will contest the next GE for Labour. 08-05-2024, 06:16 PM in response to #45389
One way or another everyone will have forgotten about it by the end of the week, like with Poulter.

The basic gist of what you say is that most people are thick and don't know what's going on. I'm coming at it from the point that it is pathetic and contradictory. To believe I'm going to change my opinion on that because an Internet snake oil salesman has illusions of grandeur is equally as comically deluded. 08-05-2024, 06:50 PM in response to #45395 08-05-2024, 06:51 PM in response to #45397
I don’t like it, but I’m not going to lose any sleep over it.

Well quite. One is shouting God is greatest in a moment of euphoria. The other is a concerted policy effort achieved over a long period of time. She has been pretty scathing of migrants. Oh and I know you repackaged it but just for the record, I, and I suspect most others would like to stop the small boats. We just dont all believe in shipping potential refugees to unsafe places. |
