They will have to build a new stand on their car park, and prove they have the potential to expand their capacity to 4000 - the latter would require levelling that whole end of their ground and putting in a stand / terrace with 3000 capacity. I look forward to their tears when they get the boot at next season's AGM. 07-05-2024, 09:30 PM in response to #45063 Swedes Wrote: This makes me want Everton Under 21's to carry on their groundshare even more, the needs to be no room for Marine at Haig Ave. You seem to know a lot about Marine? Let's see what happens. I think you will find our ground will be just fine. 07-05-2024, 11:39 PM (This post was last modified: 07-05-2024, 11:40 PM by Fola Onibuje.) in response to #45250 MarinersWay Wrote: You seem to know a lot about Marine? It's not the worst ground in the league, covered terracing, inclined 'away' end. But the quantity of seats lacking mean you'll probably have to put a golfing style temporary stand somewhere. Most teams (Warrington) are able to bodge this, but you have no space down one entire side I don't know where it goes. Anyway, problem for next season, congrats for now. 08-05-2024, 05:25 AM in response to #45037 Barnet Ben Wrote: Good grief, I'm sorry to hear that NWS. You've probably still got scents of the Edmonton incinerator wafting through your nostrils. Yes. Middlesex uni. The site closed down (Queensway, Kingsway - cant remember now). I discovered this when I drove round there a few years back. Maybe after we won at Enfield (Town?). I lived for two of my three years there in Southgate. I worked as a steward at Barnet a few times, even encountering the very unpleasant Mr Flashman. 08-05-2024, 07:07 AM in response to #45257 Fola Onibuje Wrote: I would imagine it's the seating capacity element that's the problem. How many seats are needed? When I went they had that big seated stand behind the goal? I didn't see much else wrong with the ground bar the bit down the side. I've certainly been to worse NLN grounds. 08-05-2024, 08:36 AM in response to #45250
A club who fails ground grading can’t share just to stay up. So marine at Southport is moot

I honestly think you've got a great set-up there and that probably helps with retaining the increase in fans. I just don't see how you can get your ground to the required capacity without difficulty, particularly when segregation has to be involved. 08-05-2024, 11:01 AM in response to #45288 Swedes Wrote: I honestly think you've got a great set-up there and that probably helps with retaining the increase in fans. How did it end up like that? Don’t remember seeing a ground quite so hemmed in. No real hope of redevelopment, but the site must be worth enough to build a new ground on the edge of town if they do look like succeeding. 08-05-2024, 01:41 PM in response to #45297 Meerkat Wrote: I just had a look on satellite view! The site is in prime Crosby, which means it's worth £2.50 per square meter. |
