My ex Sunday League manager is moving up in the world, taking Mousehole into the Southern League playoffs after a 7-3 win today, helped by Larkhall failing to win.

I sort of wanted rid of Scunny. Would not be sad
Genuine commiserations to Chelmsford and Barnet - finishing 2nd and getting tubbed never seems fair. Kind of hope Alty sneak into the Football League - it would be somehow less surreal than the other two, particularly Solihull who appear to exist mainly as a car park. They would be less of a waste of a place than Salford, Crawley, Fleetwood et al. 04-05-2024, 04:10 PM in response to #43373
Bury have another year in the North West Counties after losing to Wythenshawe Town on penalties.

Boston United win the NLN play-offs after defeating Brackley away, who have now qualified for the play-offs seven times and never gone up.

Brackley's annual blobbing of the playoffs is complete. It's a grand old tradition.

Until they do... Ah well it's a pleasant town and more accessible than Boston. I also have a programme signed by one of their bar staff as they featured in it as volunteer of the month. 04-05-2024, 04:44 PM in response to #43351 Perkin Warbeck Wrote: Went up to Merthyr who missed out on the play-offs despite a 7-1 spanking of Harrow, over a 1,000 there. Been in the the play-offs pretty much all season, so a shame for them to miss out but a drop off in form late on done for them. I do not miss playing Merthyr Tydfil (or whatever the latest incarnation of their football club is called). 04-05-2024, 04:47 PM in response to #44561 Fola Onibuje Wrote: Brackley ... a pleasant town and more accessible than Boston. Is it? (Genuine question.) I was told that Brackley was a pain to get to, at least by public transport. Do we think that Boston are more or less likely to get relegated from the NL than Brackley? A relatively big club, but I note they finished level on points with Curzon Ashton ("What's a Curzon Ashton?"). 04-05-2024, 04:49 PM in response to #43373
It's a massive step-up for anyone who doesn't have loads of money. Brackley have a very solid and settled NLN team but they'd have to rip it up to have a chance at the level above - Boston probably able to give it a better go but it will be very hard.
