Are there any non-dodgy sites folks on here have used to find a phone (android) by the phone number. Got lost somewhere when the missus was out. It still rings and is switched on still

Got lost somewhere when the missus was out. It still rings and is switched on still Since it is Android, presumably your wife was logged in on her google account on it. Get her to log in to her google account and then go to this link. https://www.google.com/android/find/ With some luck, it will show you the GPS location and you can get it to make noises if it is on silent. 19-04-2024, 08:36 PM in response to #42224
My late partners son lost his phone.
It would still ring and we hunted high and low for it around the house. We eventually found it in the fridge. 19-04-2024, 11:04 PM in response to #42224 Barnet Ben Wrote: Since it is Android, presumably your wife was logged in on her google account on it. Solved it eventually. Needed another android device and go to find my device on there, logon as guest device and hey presto found it to within 30 metres of where she dropped it. Added bonus, although the phone was on silent, we could override and play a sound to find it. Quite creepy though, wife's phone had no apps open that allowed location services 20-04-2024, 07:29 AM in response to #42239 Yeoman Wrote: Yes we tried that, but as it was a 'new' logon it wanted to do two factor authentication ... sending a logon code to the phone.Did it show on the found phone that you had been stalking it? Or is it yet more tech to help domestic abusers keep control - like cameras in the home you can watch on your phone (but what sort of weirdo would do that!!) 20-04-2024, 09:28 AM in response to #42226 20-04-2024, 09:31 AM (This post was last modified: 20-04-2024, 09:50 AM by Yeoman.) in response to #42250 Meerkat Wrote: Did it show on the found phone that you had been stalking it? It shows up on the device that you are locating it, so wouldn't be very good for stalking. If you only have one Android device, then it's well worth logging onto the google find my phone site from your PC or other device *before* it's too late and get the secure login done ( as you have to confirm on the phone first time ), so that you can use later on if you lose the phone. 20-04-2024, 10:08 AM (This post was last modified: 20-04-2024, 10:08 AM by Barnet Ben.) in response to #42270 Yeoman Wrote: It shows up on the device that you are locating it, so wouldn't be very good for stalking. Yeah, that. I bought one of those Google home smart speakers and the only thing I use it for is every night "Ok Google, find my phone" when I've forgotten where I've left it after a shower for the millionth time. Good for scatter brains. |
