This is undoubtedly true, but their role remains more abstract than real. In a by-election where the winning party was never in doubt and second plus third combined wouldn't have overturned first place, Reform should have taken second place quite easily on free hit votes alone. They seem a fairly disorganised set up that will undoubtedly get squeezed pretty substantially in the GE.
