If private schools are worried about losing customers they can do what all businesses have to do and find ways to cut costs and run themselves more efficiently so they can be more competative and affordable on pricing.
Subsidise??? Or just not tax? Do you think children’s books should be subject to VAT as well? Private healthcare? Medicines from Boots?

Most private schools will be fine. All richer parents will be fine. Private schools will be for the elite only.
The overall quality of education in the country will reduce. Labour productivity will be even worse. The country will spiral into decline and be the subject of a hostile takeover from Poland. And all because of this ill thought out policy.
