However, a competent manager would've picked a left-footer at left-back, blooded a Philips replacement at DM before the tournament, and would play Rice and Bellingham as the 6 and 8. Saka, Kane and Foden in front of them. Work on your signals for when to press as a team and what not. It's coming home, etc.
I think we won't improve till we get Shaw at left back whoever plays in front of Trippier is hamstrung by his inability to attack down line and cutting inside and backwards to play with his right peg.
Would stick with 4-2-3-1 and simply substitute TAA for Gallagher which will also give Rice a bit more cover and ability to get forward at times.
Mind you to me this squad is crying out for 3-5-2 formation to give us better attacking options
