Outrage for loss of pub that few actually ever go to, almost none regularly.
Big publicity, whip round, celebrations at buying it.
Big arguments over how to run it - usual disputes between power hungry volunteer types.
Still no one goes.
Goes bust.
Bit different if it is genuinely being deliberately run down to justify closure and redevelopment.
What happens if it then goes bust. Can the new owners sell it for housing and pocket the money?
The community owned pubs I know of around here seem to be doing well years after opening, including after Covid etc.
