I was brought up to take pride in what I did, as in 'if a job's worth doing it's worth doing properly' and it takes roughly the same time to make something right as it does to make it wrong.
And I have standards which even my mates will take the piss out of me for and if I don't like the look of something you can be sure it'll be in the scrap bin in by the next day.
Most people think it is better to make stuff that falls apart or doesn't perform the function it was designed for, so fair play to you for bravely swimming against the tide!!!
