^^^ Yep, the U.K. is the 8th most densely populated country in Europe. Although, it's perhaps worth noting that its population is significantly more (c. 25M) than the top seven combined (which includes Gibraltar, Jersey, and Guernsey; Vatican City is third, with a smaller population than Maidenhead United's average home crowd.)
A more equal society would alleviate some of the issues along with investment in infrastructure and services. Maybe getting a more even spread on the population as well.
^^^ How does adding an infinite number of people result in "a more equal society". By dragging down everyone's living standards to that of a mountain goat herder?!
If you limit migration too much you are going to have constraint issues upon goods and services, as you cannot ignore demographics
^^^ How about we pay people a decent wage, rather than importing Indians, Nigerians, etc., (plus their extended families) - nothing against them - to undercut the local working population. (Immigrants also get old, BTW.) Limited migration might also help with the impending climate emergency that you're always reminding us about.
The simple fact is that we have taken back control and there seems to be very little control. It was something I/We were questioning but in all the euphoria your side wasn't listening. I presume you your view is that the electorate think Labour will get immigration down.
^^^ Yes, outside of the EU we have more control on immigration. That's irrefutable. The fact that the government has allowed net migration to spiral is on them. They'll be punished accordingly at the ballot box. The next government will promise to reduce net migration - because that's what most people want. But they probably won't. Because politicians, in the main, are useless f**kers.
As for crank...well you believe in being told when and where you can go and you are charged for the privilege. Perhaps they could introduce a similar scheme for Maidenhead if you like it so much. My way would be about greater freedom.
^^^ They're building monstrous, high-rise flats all over Maidenhead town centre. Everyone thinks that the place has been ruined. But, yeah, let's invite even more people. And build even more monstrous, high-rise flats. Concrete over everything.
I think there is a misunderstanding. Creating a more equal society is something we need to do. It's not something to be achieved by immigration policy.
Limiting immigration to the UK is unlikely to affect climate emergency. That's a global thing.
Can I just ask, if no UK government is controlling immigration then why are we losing lots of money from stepping outsidevthe single market? We were told this would happen. I also had lots of debates on here where I was told wages would rise and things would be better.
