'Hyperinsulinemia' is where the body makes too much insulin, it's associated with type 2 & lifestyle choices, Congenital HI is similar in babies with around 1 in 50 000 babies & 'Insulinoma' is where a pancreatic tumour causes the beta cells to make too much insulin, usually non cancerous & removable by surgery.
Those kids mentioned recovered, which indicates what ever caused the excess of insulin didn't happen again, which for the medical causes wouldn't happen, whch means it being there was a deliberate act.
