I'm not sure if Admin want a link on here (I can't be arsed to understand potential legal problems) so I won't post a link. If it's fine then I'll post a link. It can be found. As it should be.
As a vague guide, the statistical evidence that was vital in proving that she committed these crimes was based purely on the time period that the deaths occurred, were only concerning that hospital and, perhaps most importantly, disregarded other sadly similar deaths when they were discovered at a later stage (where Letby was not present in the hospital). Clearly a pathetic set of stats. The article points to other similar cases in The Netherlands and somewhere else where the verdict was overturned
Statisticians say that the evidence provided was seriously flawed. Added to this, the medical research that much of the evidence was based on doesn't apply to the victims of this case (according to the original author himself) and witnesses who supported Letby were not asked to stand (in addition to all the professionals mentioned above). It perhaps should be remembered that she also denied all charges at all stages and, having previously been considered happy and sound of mind, the actions taken by her seniors lead to deep depression and what would appear to be a complete mental breakdown.
Go and read it.
Quite frankly, it's a fucking disgrace that this article isn't available in this country.
It's logical, it's coherent and it is large based on scientific facts.
Cheers, BG. If that is what the article is saying then a review of the decision is needed. That's quite a lot of stuff questioning the basis of the original decision. Is there a reason all those supporting her were not called?
