I have just double checked my Tfl pension as it was paid today. Thanks to not changing the tax threshold and getting an increase in both state and company pension I am now taking home £16 less from Tfl every 4 weeks than I did last year. Offset by state pension my income has increased by almost £120 a year. My council tax, water rates and service charge between them have increased by around £500. Thankfully I have my bus pass because at this rate the first thing to go will be the car followed by Amazon and Sky.
Sunak said we had turned the corner. We are meant to ignore all of the lived experiences and listen to a man who married into a billionaire's family. He knows what it's like for normal people.
