Declan Rice is a fantastically effective player.

The thinking man’s Kante Oh yeah, Rice was definitely great. Guehi was good as well. In reality, there were probably quite a few positives. The massive negatives are that a) Southgate didn't take off Foden who was little more than a disastrous passenger (although obviously a great player) and b) Southgate seems convinced about HOOFY Trent (although a great player). If we're risking Trent in midfield, we might as well risk four attacking midfielders. It's all a bit depressing in the sense that you can see all these problems coming a mile off. But then, it's not depressing because we're still quite good. 16-06-2024, 09:02 PM in response to #54152
We're just boring and negative as soon as we take a lead.
Same thing after x amount of years. You can't ever make a man scared of his own shadow play attractive, attacking football. He will always revert to type and shit himself holding onto a 1 0. 16-06-2024, 09:04 PM in response to #54154 Bullsgold Wrote: Oh yeah, Rice was definitely great. Guehi was good as well. The midfield should contain midfielders, the defence defenders etc. Shoehorning someone in cos you're a moron isn't going to work. 16-06-2024, 09:06 PM in response to #54152
Didn't watch much, a stressful evening with jnr.
However, from what I saw and gathered you were ok but weren't great but how often would that result have been 1-1 in previous tournaments? Teams who win things hang on those situations. Pleased to see Bowen have a positive impact. 16-06-2024, 09:09 PM in response to #54151 16-06-2024, 09:12 PM in response to #54158 16-06-2024, 09:13 PM in response to #54158
Credit to Serbia who adjusted tactics and were better in the 2nd half
