It's like our own personal ground hog day nightmare. In truth, we were shite today. The first half from both sides was a bit flat but Braintree finished better and took that into the 2nd half. Their first goal (and the sitter they misse d just before) should have been the warning we needed but once again our manager was a bit too passive and left it until they scored a second to make some changes. And boy did those changes have an impact. In the 20 mins after we missed a tap in, a one on one, a relatively good half chance, then their keep pulled off 3 worldies before we got one back. And when we did the equaliser felt inevitable as they were imploding. We equalised causing pandamodium and Braintree were hanging on for Extra time. Then, in extra time, we had about 2 or 3 mins of preasure before we started doing all the things we did wrong early in the second half all over again. We took our foot off their throats, they wrestled back control, took the lead again and after we barely laid a glove on them. They fully deserved their win, we bottled yet another play off campaign. I think that's 11 or 12 since our first failure way back in the Southern League play offs in 2003/2004. 1 in the the Southern League, 1 in the Isthmian, the rest in the National South. Same old shit, different season. Oh well. At least its 12 whole months before it happens again. 27-04-2024, 05:30 PM in response to #43325

My Scunthorpe supporting friend reckoned they needed to go up to survive. 12m in debt, don't own the ground, no assets. Oops.

Losing 0-3 at home to Solihull Motors is a proper FLID BOG result.

Having a garage as a league side would be truly tinpot. But we're down to Alty Bromley or a garage so the choice is already embarassing
