I remember one of the government - might have even been the chancellor - saying on TV after budget pensioners will be better off by a considerable sum. I have just double checked my Tfl pension as it was paid today. Thanks to not changing the tax threshold and getting an increase in both state and company pension I am now taking home £16 less from Tfl every 4 weeks than I did last year. Offset by state pension my income has increased by almost £120 a year. My council tax, water rates and service charge between them have increased by around £500. Thankfully I have my bus pass because at this rate the first thing to go will be the car followed by Amazon and Sky.
