Lenny Baryea Wrote: The tube is an obvious example. When travelling from King's Cross or another London station on an away day, we'll now have to consider getting an earlier train from Maidenhead than the one suggested by Trainline or whatever as the Elizabeth Line and/ or one of the other lines will invariably be affected by delays. That rarely - if ever - used to be the case.
On one of last season's trips, possibly Altrincham away, there were a load of protestors (all white folk, for the record), seemingly en route to a march, singing slogans like "From the river to the sea" on the tube, which made for an uneasy atmosphere. Plus, the streets around Euston were filthier than usual, with rubbish piling up.
I'm sure Khan will point fingers at the Tories/ Brexit/ pandemic/ Israel, etc., but, as mentioned, this'll be his third term. I'd like to think that he'll need to stop blaming others at some point, especially as a Labour government will face the same financial problems as the current administration and so unlikely to be a silver bullet for him.
Nonsense. The tube only gets better. New, more spacious, more frequent air conditioned trains, extensions to new parts of London and the signalling upgrades have made major delays far rarer than they used to be. I've only had to wait more than 10 minutes for a train once in the last year and I use it about 4 days a week. A decade ago the entire northern line would go down for hours once a fortnight.
People are allowed to protest. You want the mayor to ban them?
Also, is that all there is to complain about? It's really not that bad. Most people agree which is why he won a resounding third term.
