Is that a sensible way to organise things? Is it fair or desirable that one club wins the lottery and can survive/thrive? And when one does, doesn’t it just cause a ripple effect of overspending in the club’s division?
But why get rid of replays if it only benefits the successful clubs?
It doesn't make sense to get rid of replays for the vast majority of clubs. I think that's my problem with it.
I don't disagree with the idea that shit clubs should be responsible enough to manage their finances and not require a lottery FA Cup tie to balance the books. It's just that it's depriving shit clubs of making money as well as depriving the fans who spend most of their lives watching unglamorous football of their 5 minutes of fun.
It's a genuinely shit idea and everyone should make a stand against it otherwise things will get much worse.
