I’m sure the FA give a fuck what Grimsby Town think. The statement from the FL is more relevant. It would be interesting to know if FL clubs would swap the (dying) League Cup for FA Cup replays as a solution to the fixture list issues. 19-04-2024, 07:07 AM (This post was last modified: 19-04-2024, 07:30 AM by Dave (Barra).) in response to #42046
I would.
Edit - And to be 100% honest, I’d like to see the detail in the new redistribution proposals. If every League/non league club were to get a decent wedge guaranteed every season, isn’t that better than getting sod all but the chance of maybe getting Man U/Liverpool in a Cup game? In terms of sustainability etc. We’ve played a Prem team in the 3rd round twice. Neither time was particularly lucrative. Certainly not Exeter/Burton at Old Trafford levels. I don't see why FL clubs should have to agree to lose anything. They should merely make a stand against losing the FA Cup replays. They don't have to negotiate anything. Return replays or no FA Cup. 19-04-2024, 07:34 AM in response to #42046 ladderman Wrote: I’m sure the FA give a fuck what Grimsby Town think. The statement from the FL is more relevant. The more clubs who make statements, the more the FA will have to listen. 19-04-2024, 07:38 AM in response to #42073
Statements mean sod all though.
A co-ordinated refusal to enter the competition next season would make them pay attention….but that won’t happen. 19-04-2024, 07:42 AM in response to #42075 Dave (Barra) Wrote: Statements mean sod all though. Why won't it happen? I don't understand why they all haven't already done it. It's madness really. Just fucking exit the competition and the replays will return! 19-04-2024, 08:32 AM in response to #42078
How many other changes imposed to satisfy the whims of the big boys have resulted in coordinated action by the rest?
Semis at Wembley? No Cup final at 5.30 on a Saturday? No No replays past R5? No etc Unless I’ve missed one? 19-04-2024, 08:49 AM in response to #42046
They stopped "The Life Of Riley" being the Goal Of The Month music and we sat back and did nothing.

I don't know why they don't do it. They're pretty gutless I think getting rid of replays for the 'shite' rounds is at least one step too far. Certainly more important than any of the other largely superficial changes. |
