Are Arsenal the biggest club in Europe who have the shittest record in Europe? I mean what is it 13 league titles, loads of domestic cups yet on the European stage 1 cup winners cup and one banned from Europe trophy. That is absolutely appalling. Literally every club has won at least one cup winner's cup. Are there any other 'big' European team who have such a terrible domestic vs Europe record? Obviously ignoring the dross from the likes of Lithuania and Scotland.

Are Arsenal considered as a ‘big’ club in Europe?
If you asked the average Juan/Jean-Pierre for big clubs from England they’d say Man Utd, Liverpool and maybe City or Chelsea? Don’t get me wrong, Arsenal are big (although I remember swathes of empty seats in the Rioch era) but maybe not European big, if that makes sense. 18-04-2024, 10:03 AM in response to #41897 Dave (Barra) Wrote: Are Arsenal considered as a ‘big’ club in Europe? Original members of the European Super League so they must be MASSIVE. 18-04-2024, 10:34 AM in response to #41897 Dave (Barra) Wrote: Are Arsenal considered as a ‘big’ club in Europe? Yeah this was kind of my point, they are considered a big club in England due to their history, but their history is domestic. I think you are right, they would struggle to make top 5 lists from Johhny Foreigner, which makes them a bit of an anomaly in my view. 18-04-2024, 11:51 AM in response to #41897 Dave (Barra) Wrote: Are Arsenal considered as a ‘big’ club in Europe? I doubt they would say Chelsea as it's a Championship level club. Maybe Liverpool, Man United and currently Man City. 18-04-2024, 12:46 PM in response to #41873
If you ask any foreigner at my work if they like football, they're either Asian man utd or Liverpool fans or African Chelsea or arsenal. Man city don't even get a look in.
I think arsenal are big due to the wenger era of African players, but certainly not even close to Liverpool or man u. 18-04-2024, 02:44 PM in response to #41873
Yeah I think City have a lot of work to do on the foreign tourist front still compared to the rest. Maybe they should invest in a more effective social media strategy than dicking about spending billions on the pitch.
