Was just watching the highlights from the weekend. Particularly Liverpool, United, spurs, Arsenal games. I’m shocked at the poor defending.
The number of times the top teams end up one against one at the back, and the number of times that top defenders seem to end up on their arses is incredible.
Quick check of stats suggests the premier league has the highest goals per game and highest percentage of games with over 2.5 goals.
Is this tactical (both Tuchel and Ange have said that they are happy to give up chances) or to do with culture of the game or supporters? And does it mean anything for our chances in tournaments?
