Always came across as an absolute arsehole. That doesn't change cos he's died.
Utterly reviled by about 90% of clubs he worked at. 08-04-2024, 04:30 PM in response to #40191 Marked Ox Wrote: He called Oxford fans "Muppets" when he left as Director of Football. Can’t remember the exact circumstances, but around this time didn’t he have a heart attack after admitting to eating two McDonald’s meals a day - then on his return to Oxford he was saluted with a chant of ‘one more burger and you’re dead’. 08-04-2024, 05:03 PM (This post was last modified: 08-04-2024, 05:04 PM by Uptheshots.) in response to #40274 08-04-2024, 05:04 PM in response to #40296 08-04-2024, 05:50 PM in response to #40287 Bonzo HFC Wrote: Can’t remember the exact circumstances, but around this time didn’t he have a heart attack after admitting to eating two McDonald’s meals a day - then on his return to Oxford he was saluted with a chant of ‘one more burger and you’re dead’. Entirely possible it may been chanted at him as it was a mutual hate/hate relationship for both parties although it could also have happened when he came back with another club. I don't remember him having a heart attack with us although he cited poor health as a reason to leave but then took the same role at Luton a short time later. As far as I can tell, he had a heart attack before joining us and we were his first job afterwards. That was a really bad season/side for us as we got relegated to Lg 2. Two of our centre-halves (Lee Jarman, Ian McGuckin) had the turning circles of a large Container Ship. 08-04-2024, 06:07 PM in response to #40311 Marked Ox Wrote: Entirely possible it may been chanted at him as it was a mutual hate/hate relationship for both parties although it could also have happened when he came back with another club. Probably was Luton come to think of it. |
