Maidenhead come from 2 Nil down looking dead and buried at Eastleigh to win 3-2. Great Easter 6 points gained, now 3 tough home games (Barnet,Hartlepool and Gateshead) before going to Chesterfield on last day of season.
See they appear to have gone on holiday early after winning league. 01-04-2024, 07:04 PM in response to #39412 Fola Onibuje Wrote: Lost 0-1 to Scunny in the 89th min. With anyone other than Will Russ up front I think we would have got something - needs to spend his summer in the gym. Very good performance and a decent game - think the lack of anything on the bench probably cost us a point sadly. 01-04-2024, 07:11 PM in response to #39417 Leeds Sandgrounder Wrote: With anyone other than Will Russ up front I think we would have got something - needs to spend his summer in the gym. As someone said to me at the Stortford game, Russ looks like he'd be fine working in B&Q given some simple and specific tasks. You need something a bit more than that leading the line though. 01-04-2024, 09:45 PM (This post was last modified: 01-04-2024, 09:48 PM by Nigel L.) in response to #39395
Won 2-1 at Tonbridge today.
1st half we were all over the place, lucky to go in only one down. 2nd half, they couldn't live with our forward play, they were chasing shadows. Two cracking goals sealed it. So 7 wins on the bounce, 5 of those away. 18 points from 6, 21 from 8. We're now on the fringe of making the playoffs and face Maidstone next Saturday. Bullishness rising? I don't much care about that as we're nowhere near National division standard, but we can be really good when we play without fear. It'll probably end up in glorious failure, but it's fun putting the wind up the other contenders in the meantime. 02-04-2024, 11:10 AM in response to #39432 02-04-2024, 11:14 AM in response to #39412 Fola Onibuje Wrote: Rushall and Darlo winning has spiced it up down there. Have to worry for Farsley. Yep, i think that's it now, especially as Rushall have Stortford next week and we have Darlo away. They'll be bang up for it and our shysters will go into their shell and succumb to a 3-0 defeat. We have Posh Sports twice in four days next Sat/Tues, anything less than four points and we'll be mentally down. Oh well, at least we'll have our derby with Guiseley back, and i've always wanted to tick off Bamber Bridge and Workington. 02-04-2024, 02:02 PM (This post was last modified: 02-04-2024, 02:04 PM by Dover and Dover.) in response to #39395

I did remark to Swedes on Friday that it was surprising Farsley were playing for a point at the end. When they went down to ten men, they slowed the game down, keeper taking minutes to take a goal kick etc. They may regret taking a point in a home match against 15th in the league. Long way to go though. |
