Headed to Derby last month from St Pancras. Got there to see a massive queue which I didn’t realise at first was for the Midlands trains. I asked a steward type who said everyone had to join the queue, which was apparently because kings x was closed thatcday!! I pointed out it was a mile long and I would miss my train which was leaving in 9 minutes. She wasn’t particularly bothered about this.
I went to the front of the queue and noticed no heavy inspector or steward presence, just everyone being very British and lining up. I very politely pushed in and went through and boarded my almost empty train. Thinking it was bound to be delayed I was surprised when it left bang on time half empty with loads of free reserved seats! 28-03-2024, 01:33 PM in response to #38887 The Rev Rob SBFC Wrote: Headed to Derby last month from St Pancras. I imagine a lot of people shook their heads and tutted at you. |
